There are critical global issues that require reforms, grants, and at times even UN interventions in order to be resolved. These include food insecurity, global warming, war in a disputed territory. Then, there are small problems of the world that everyone faces regularly, so much so that they are now considered a part of everyday life and hence not paid any heed to.
Today, we will be sharing some small problems that are faced by people around the world. Check out these small problems and see how many you can relate to.
Being left on hold when calling someone
This is a situation almost everyone has faced when calling any organization, or trying to reach a friend through landline.
Most of us find it irritating to be left waiting on hold for a long time. Sometimes it seems as if the other person has completely forgotten about our existence. Sadly, none of us has a solution to this problem.
The only alternative is to contact the relevant person on their mobile phone. However, if you do not have their direct or personal contact details, you will have to wait for a long time.
Having no Wi-Fi
Imagine you are locked up in a room and asked to spend the entire day without any interaction with fellow beings. You may accept the challenge thinking you would watch videos on YouTube, chat with your friends on WhatsApp and the day would pass in the blink of an eye.
Now imagine that there is no Wi-Fi in that room. Would you still take that risk? Hopefully, not.
Today’s generation is hooked on to social media and so used to ordering even the basic necessities (like food) online that the presence of Wi-Fi at all locations is considered mandatory and taken for granted. However, amongst the small problems of the world lies being stranded at a place with no Wi-Fi.
Having to pay for those shopping bags
Every time we return from grocery shopping, we neatly fold and save the plastic bags telling ourselves we would re-use them on the next shopping spree. However, we always forget to carry them with me the next time.
Whether it is coincidental or spending extra money to purchase those bags is in our destiny, it is one of the most annoying small problems of the world to literally pay for carrying your own shopping bag home.
Even though we are all aware of the reasons behind encouraging the re-use of shopping bags, let’s not deny we all feel irritated when asked to pay extra for shopping bags when checking out.
We definitely can’t carry the shopped items in our hands, or can we?
Lack of phone signals
Just like the internet, we are all dependent on our mobile phones in today’s fast-paced and digitally connected world. However, most of us tend to lose perspective when the Wi-Fi signals drop or, when we enter areas with low connectivity. It seems as if we are cut off from the rest of the world.
Just take a moment to reflect upon the fact – how helpless an absence of such technologies can make us feel today – even though our ancestors managed to survive without these luxuries for many years.
The lost end of an adhesive tape
It may be classified as a small problem of the world, but is definitely amongst the most common ones that we face. Whether it be a transparent sellotape, an adhesive paper tape, or a packaging tape – once we cut it off for packaging, we usually lose the end, and struggle to find it.
Forgetting the password
Every time we want to log in to one of our online accounts and have mentally prepared a list of the activities we are going to perform therein; chances are that we would enter the wrong password.
Forgetting the password is frustrating and retrieving it is a hassle. Even though you can click the “Forgot Password” tab to create a new password, it is disappointing to end up in that situation.
Running out of milk
A situation that often leaves us furious is, when there is no milk available, just at the time when we need to have tea. Even after searching for it in the refrigerator, we may find that we have run out of milk supplies.
We hope you can relate to these problems that we have mentioned in this article.
